Shoe string broke

This morning I went for a 21km run in new  type of 4mm invisible shoes.  When it came to 19 km, my shoe strong broke, as the photo shown on my FB album http://www.facebook.com/photo……38;theater.

This is the second time my shoe string broke.  Interestingly, they are all shoe strings that go with the new sandals 4mm and 6mm.

I was quite surprised the first time the shoe string broke, since I seldom wore it(the orange shoe string that goes with the 6mm sandals).

It was definitely under 20 km since I used the string.

Compared to my first Huraches sandals, whose string are purple, the strings are really endurable.

So I wonder if the quality  of the shoe strings as the assessory to the new Hueaches sandals is decreasing, or if there is something wrong with

the way I tie the knot of shoe strings.  And Steve, wuould you clarify my doubt?

Something to share with you guys, thanks.

Wow, VERY surprising.

I can't tell if the problem came from your tying since the lace is broken… I'd really have to see how the shoe looks ON your foot (especially with a photo from behind, from above, and from the side) to get a sense of what the problem could be.

I've been using the same lace, without a problem on my new Connects and Contacts for MONTHS (as have many others).

The new outsoles are designed so that the string is raised off the ground slightly, so there should be less wear (if any). And when you tie them, it should lift the string even further off the ground.

One thing I've seen with one customer is that they were running ON TOP of the string (they tied the heel strap loosely and their heel slid off to the side). That, of course, put friction on the string and it broke.

So, in short, I don't have enough information to give you a definitive answer (again, pictures of you IN the shoes will help). But email support@invisibleshoe.com about getting a replacement for your laces!

Thank you for your speedy reply, Steve.

I will look at the video on the website: How to make your Hurarches sandals, and make sure I follow the instruction given in the video.

I will also take photoes of my foot in shoes when I have time.

You offer excellent customer service, thank you again.

Quote from Steve:

I think this might be the reason. I might tie the heel strap over loosely so it wear much faster.  However, I once tried to tight the string tighter, but the string kept rubbing against my skin and my skin got bruises, bled and hurt.  After that, I kept the shoestring not too tight, which made me comfortable in long run.

OK, I guess I have to find the balance between tight and loose.
