I would like to know what other laces others have tried out? I like the one's you get with the kit. But i would like to have other options.

Laces are so important. I am not a huge fan of the laces that come with the kit either. My advice to you is to get some elasticized chordage from REI. I love the elaticized stuff. Now I can go a whole run without even thinking about my laces and they fit right through the holes perfectly. also you will probably spend about $5. go to REI and look for the camping department or just ask someone for chordage. Hope this helps!

Do you tie the cordage just like the normal laces that come with the kits?
Curious,

Yes I tie them the slip on way. What's great about the slip on way with the elasticized chordage is that you can truly slip them on very quickly and have the laces tight. It is nice to have the laces really tight so your sole isn't flapping around so much. Since it is elasticized it can be tight and not hurt your foot. Also I am trimming off more and more little bits of the sole which is hleping with the flapping. I have the original vibram cherry. I have a feeling the new soles don't flap as much.
One more thing…… I just recently purchased the elasticized leather laces form Luna sandals. Wow i am so so comfortable now. the sandal is very very secure( zero flapping), and I forget I am wearing anything because they are so comfortable. I had to make my holes in the cherry bigger to accomodate the bigger lace. I purchased the 3/8 inch equius elasticized leather laces. Good luck.

I thought I wouldn't like the laces that came with the sandals but I do like them a lot. I have also tried nylon cord from the hardware store. It had a sort of plaid pattern. It seemed to loosen and not stay tied quite as well.

I use hiking boot laces in my Cherry sole personal cut huaraches and find that they actually tighten up over time! The nylon laces (supplied) do seem to slacken off a little, but I lace by pulling up around my ankle and that seems to keep the overall slack to a minimum.
