I made my first run in my new invisible shoes today.  Loved them.

I started BFR about 6 months ago.  I started with low mileage and worked upto 3 miles BF mostly pavement with a little trail.  I really only want to run the trails so I started doing mostly trails but got tired of the constant stickers in my feet so I started doing part BF and part in VFFs or Merrils.  Both felt like way too much shoe on top and not enough feel of the ground, that's when I decided to try invisible shoes.  They solved both of my "shoe" problems.  I will continue to do part of my run BF but now I will carry my invisible shoes and switch to them when I get into "bad" areas.

I ordered them last Thursday and got them on Monday.  I have  been wearing them ever since but today was my first run.  I am going to order a second pair so I always have a clean pair to wear.

Friday I will try some hills and see how they do.

The move to VFFs is a staggering improvement in ground feel from regular trainers, but the move to huaraches (even from VFFs) is a totally new feeling. I find I can get MUCH closer to nature while out – previously rabbits would scatter when I approached within 30 yards of them, but in huaraches I can get within a mere few yards before they realise I'm there.

It's a while after the last post but, I'm reading through older stuff in the forum and came across this post.

I've noticed a similar reaction to wildlife when I'm walking in VFFs or barefoot. I find that I actually get very close to deer, rabbits, squirrels before they notice I'm there and then they usually don't react as they do when I'm in shoes.

The other night I ran by a mother deer and her fawn and actually passed within 5 feet of them (they were on the side of the road). They just watched me run by. The second loop around, they didn't even look up at me.

Pretty cool. I might have to wear my IS when I go hunting in the fall :)
