Since I got my 6mm Contacts, I've been doing about 3mi., but today decided to go a bit further.  At about mile 4.5, my feet were getting a little tired, and I found that I was suddenly running a little more quietly.  It just sort of happened spontaneously.  I think my body, feet, legs, etc. were reacting naturally.  I began to play with it, and soon, there was almost no sound, and my feet started feeling great.  I realized that I was, essentially, running like I was sneaking up on something.  Sounds a bit weird when you put it that way, but it worked for me, and my feet and legs feel better than ever.  Can't wait for tomorrow's run to try it again!

I have found that if you concentrate too much on trying to run naturally, you tend to overdo one aspect of running form and the others suffer. Just like you said, once you get a little tired you tend to focus on something else (i.e. breathing) and your form just seems to "click" together.
