I was ecstatic when my kit arrived on Thursday.  I spent Friday night putting it together and it went really well.  It took me a day to dial in the fit, but in the meantime I've become a pro with the 'slip on' tying method.

Here's an observation I happened upon while fitting the shoes. I have long toes and I found the string between my big toe and second toe was crossing my second toe and creating a good deal of chafing when walking.  The trick ended up being to loosen the string significantly across the top of my foot (the string that leads from the knot underneath the forefoot to the outside of the foot) and when I brought the string around from the other side to start the tying I tried to set up the front 'between the toes' string so that it is as straight as possible, not angled too much to the right and not too much to the left.  Getting that string straight really seems to be the key, for me at least.  Now that they're dialed in, I think I'm ready for a run!

Invisible shoes are an excellent project.  I had so much fun putting them together, I can't wait to get another pair.  The materials and customer service are absolutely top notch.  Steven, you rock!  I'm looking forward to turning more people onto these huaraches!

I completely agree. I think it fits better when the toe string is tied straight.

Worked better for me, too. I also ended up re-tying for a looser fit after walking around in them after the first attempt and I also like having it come straight down from the toe rather than off to the side. I definetely like Steve's method  on his video of slip on lacing. I tried another method from a different site for comparison and this one is better IMHO. But I  would like to suggest that he put on a video for doing it on the other foot also.  It took me a while to make the adjustment from watching the lace up from one foot and doing it on to the opposite foot!

I was really surprised that I got the material so quick. I put the order in on a Friday night and it arrived on Monday.  I tried using a drill but that didn't really work so I went to a hobby shop and got a leather punch for $8. It was made in China and it wasn't strong enough to go through the material.  I ended up going to a hardware store and getting a $16 one that did the trick. It was made in Taiwan in case anyone is wondering.

Also, I preferred the methods on the videos about making the knot on the bottom less noticeable. I tried just tieing it using an 8 knot, but I still felt it so I did the method of just using the outer sleeve (also with an 8 knot) and now I don't feel it at all.
