Not Zero Shoes but Xero Shoes

Posted by | Posted in Barefoot Running Shoes, Barefoot Sandals | Posted on 28-01-2013

I know that when I tell people we’re becoming Xero Shoes, they sometimes think Zero Shoes. If you only hear our new name, without someone explaining the “X”, that makes sense ;-)

But that’s easy to explain. It reminds me of an OLD song. Remember “Liza with a Z, not Lisa with an S”? (if so, that dates us both). We’re “Xero with an X.”

Just in case someone hears Zero Shoes and doesn’t hear about the X part, we’ve created a few domains that, hopefully they’ll find if they type in the wrong thing in the search engines.

No need to go to these sites, they just point people back to XeroShoes.com, but I’m listing them here, frankly, to help get them ranked so that people who type zero shoes in the search engine will find one of them and get to the right place. Make sense?

Anyway, the list of “redirect” sites we’ve created is:

Why didn’t I get zeroshoes.com? Well, the guy who owns it wants a LOT of money for it. Way more than we have. :-(

Hopefully one of those other “zero shoes” domains will pop up if someone’s looking for us and they’ll find the right place, xeroshoes.com (which, btw, will be live in it’s new incarnation in a day or so!)

Xero (Invisible) Shoes On Shark Tank Feb 1st!

Barefoot Shoes on ABC's Shark Tank!

For all of you who, for the last 3 years, have said to us, “You guys should be on Shark Tank!”:

  1. You can stop saying it now
  2. You’ll appreciate how good of a secret we’ve kept ;-)

While Lena and I were taking our first vacation since starting our company, we got an email saying that we’re scheduled to appear on Shark Tank on Friday, February 1st. The show is on ABC and airs at 9pm Eastern and Pacific, 8pm Central and Mountain time.

For those who don’t know the show, check out ABC.com. For those of you who know Dragon’s Den from the U.K. and Canada… same idea (in fact, 2 of the same Sharks).

In essence, Lena and I will be pitching 5 investors — the Sharks — to get an investment in our company and take it to the next level.

We couldn’t be more excited than to see what happens when we air, and when over 7 MILLION people discover our barefoot sandal company.

BTW, we appear as Xero Shoes on the show and, if all goes well, we’ll be using our new site at www.XeroShoes.com starting next week!

Fingers crossed!
